Privacy policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Glashaus is a vacation rental in Angels Camp, California, owned and hosted by Sara Cooper and James Beyersdorf. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit glashausresort.com or book a stay, how we use it, and the choices you have. "We" and "us" mean the two of us as the owners and hosts of Glashaus.
What we collect
When you book a stay, we collect:
- Your name, email address and mobile number
- Your check-in and check-out dates and the number of guests
- Anything you choose to write in the "Anything we should know?" box
- A record of your payment from Stripe: the amount, the date, and whether it succeeded
We never see or store your full card number. You enter your card details on Stripe's secure checkout page, and Stripe processes the payment.
When you visit the site without booking, we don't ask for any personal information. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details for each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics that follow you across other websites.
How we use it
- To confirm and manage your booking, and to block your dates so no one else can book them
- To send your booking confirmation, and to text or email you arrival details and answers to your questions
- To process payments and refunds
- To keep business, accounting and tax records, including the lodging tax we pay to Calaveras County
- To protect against fraud and keep the site secure
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run the booking system, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe processes card payments and refunds. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Supabase securely stores booking records.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Resend delivers booking confirmation emails.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this site, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads.
- Airbnb receives a calendar feed so your dates show as unavailable there. The feed contains only dates, never your name or contact details.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or guests' safety.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as we need them for the stay and for our tax and accounting records, which is generally several years. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are deleted on their regular schedule.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We'll do so unless we need to keep it for tax, legal or accounting reasons. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because we don't track visitors across other websites or over time for advertising, our site works the same whether or not that signal is on.
Children
This site is meant for adults booking travel. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to the highest level of the payment card industry's security standard (PCI DSS). Booking records are stored with access limited to us and our booking system.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
